75th Anniversary Celebration Under Way at Galt House Hotel

The Al J. Schneider Company, which owns the iconic Galt House Hotel, announced its milestone 75th anniversary with a series of celebrations that will take place across its Louisville properties – notably a series of festivities throughout 2022 at the hotel.
Leading up to the official anniversary on September 30, the historic hotel will launch a robust slate of experiential packages and programming honoring the history of the Al J. Schneider Company and its founder Al J. Schneider. Guests and locals alike can immerse themselves in the best of Louisville through activities that highlight the one-of-a-kind spirit of Louisville and unique to the Al J. Schneider Company.
The Al J. Schneider Company has been a cornerstone of Louisville’s hospitality industry for decades. The company started in 1947 with Al J. Schneider, who developed and owned four of the largest hotels, including the beloved Galt House, as well as many other commercial properties throughout Louisville. Now Kentucky's largest owner-operator of hotels, the Al J. Schneider Company continues to honor the legacy of its founder. Here is a look at the 75th anniversary promotions:
Once in a Lifetime at The Galt
In honor of the 75th Anniversary, The Galt House Hotel will be offering limited-time “Once in a Lifetime at The Galt” luxury experience packages with opulent components available at $75,000 – including round-trip private jet transportation and presidential suite accommodations. Guests who book this package will have a full itinerary of over-the-top luxuries distinctive to Louisville – from an exquisite bourbon tasting and barrel pick at Old Forester Distillery, behind-the-scenes experiences of Louisville’s renowned horse racing tradition and more.
75 Days of AJS
Ahead of the anniversary, the company has launched “75 Days of AJS,” a series of unique pop-up activities and daily programming to build excitement across the company’s properties in the seventy-five days leading up to the official anniversary date in September. Part of the 75 Days of anniversary themed on-property offers include $75 room rates, $7.50 Old Fashioneds and a $75 limited-time special offered at Swizzle Dinner & Drinks. In addition, there will be a number of events to commemorate the Al J. Schneider Company's historical significance to Louisville, including the burial of a time capsule, property restorations to include a historic clock as well as dedications and weekly toasts in honor of Al. J Schneider.
AJS Gives Back
Founded on the pinnacles of community and giving back, the Al J. Schneider Company plans to further celebrate the anniversary by fulfilling Al. J Schneider’s philanthropic spirit and uplifting the community. To pay homage to the story of how Al J. Schneider began his company with a $500 loan, the Al J. Schneider Company will enact service and assistance initiatives for local Louisville businesses to allow other local community builders a chance to leave behind their legend in Louisville. As well, The Galt House team will implement local community service projects including 7,500 hours of community service and fundraising for local organizations.
