Against the Grain Raising Funds for Ukraine Relief During April

Against the Grain Brewery, all during April, will be donating $1 for every pour of A Beer lager at any of its locations to a charity dedicated to Ukraine relief.

Participating AtG-owned businesses include Against The Grain Brewery and Smokehouse, Against the Grain Brewery and Public House, The Whirling Tiger, The Flamingo Lounge, and AtG Sandwich Emporium. In addition, Hoopsters Sports Grill in Jeffersonville will be making a $1 donation for every pour of Citra Ass Down. In addition, Against the Grain said it will also be asking local breweries to share beer to be sold at the ATG Smokehouse for added proceeds.

The organization is Positive Legacy and its Pours for Positive Legacy initiative through which the non-profit teams up with craft breweries to raise money for Ukraine. Positive Legacy, per its website, said it will disperse funds raised to a vetted Ukrainian humanitarian cause to provide basic necessities to refugees, from meals to clothing to medical supplies.

“I can't begin to fathom the feelings that the Ukranians are having,” Against the Grain co-owner Sam Cruz said via a Facebook post. “But I know that it must be overwhelming. We have to help.”

The brewery itself announced, “The impact of Russia’s unprovoked attack has been devastating to the sovereignty and people of Ukraine. And with no end in sight to this continued escalation, so rises the urgent need for help.”

Individuals also can donate directly to Positive Legacy for Ukraine relief.

“Wherever we are, we can help keep the light of peace and hope alive for the people of Ukraine by showing our solidarity with them,” Positive Legacy states on its website. “We might not be able to go join them, but we can be emboldened to help by making donations, small or large, during this time of need.
