Lindsey Johnson, CEO of EXPO Bar in downtown Louisville, was chosen as a semi-finalist for Innovator of the Year in Bar & Restaurant’s Industry Excellence Awards. In addition, EXPO bartender Josh Davis was nominated as Bartender of the Year.

The awards, formerly known as the Nightclub & Bar Awards, are designed to, according to Bar & Restaurant, “recognize, celebrate, and support the people who make the independent bar and restaurant industry great. These awards honor leaders for their talent, in addition to their integrity and commitment to equality, sustainability, community and culture across the industry.”

Winners will be announced live at Bar & Restaurant Expo, March 21-23, 2022 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

In other EXPO news, Lush Life Productions — of which Johnson is founder and CEO — will bring Econo Tour 2022 to the bar on Tuesday, March 29, as part of its eight-city tour. Econo Tour is “an education and experience-driven tour meant to democratize bar knowledge, promote and spotlight marginalized bar professionals, and create communities near and far while tackling the bar industry’s greatest challenges,” per a news release.

Each stop consists of classes from 10 am-4 pm, followed by a cocktail-centric bar pop up from 7 pm-10 pm.
