According to an announcement on Facebook by Steak & Bourbon, Guaca Mole, currently located at 9921 Ormsby Station Road, is moving to the former Rye location in NuLu.

“Our sister restaurant Guaca Mole is moving to NuLu Take a sneak peak at the design renderings to see what’s coming and follow them on Instagram & Facebook for all updates and behind the scenes content leading up to their big move!”, the announcement said. The address of the building is 900 E. Market St.

Rye closed in July 2020 due to the effects of Covid, much to the dismay of the neighborhood and many Louisvillians.

Guaca Mole is a high-end Mexican concept owned by Olé Restaurant Group, which also owns popular restaurants Taco Luchador, La Bodeguita de Mima and, of course, Steak & Bourbon. A principal owner in Olé is Chef Fernando Martinez, who also opened local mainstays like Mussel and Burger Bar.

More renderings are below.

UPDATED: LEO Weekly posted a report that includes a statement from Martinez.
