High Horse Bar Teams with Pretty Good Concerts for Music Series

Known for its 1970s casual vibe and reasonably priced craft cocktails, High Horse Bar opened in October 2019 with the goal of being a comfy neighborhood bar. However, the bar's venue space is so powerful that it naturally drew the High Horse team into promoting entertainment, which grew to become part of its identity.

In an effort to continue to grow its live entertainment High Horse has partnered with Pretty Good Concerts to run the concerts professionally so that the High Horse can continue to focus on their bar program.

The first live show will be on Friday, March 1st with Quiet Hollers with Super City and Lacey Guthrie with Reganbogen. Future show dates and tickets are available at highhorsebar.com/live-music.

"This is a fresh new phase for High Horse and we are excited to have an experienced team, who are also friends, to focus on the venue so we can do what we love to do -- run a fun bar," Brian Goodwin, High Horse Bar co-owner, said in a news release.

"Intimate venue shows are our forte and this room fits the mold for our mission of delivering high quality shows to Louisville and, more specifically, the Butchertown neighborhood," Mark Evans, Pretty Good Concerts co-owner, said.

Pretty Good Concerts was formed in 2022 to bring mid to high quality shows into Kentucky by Mark Evans and Alley McDowell once they realized they could operate with good nature and integrity in an otherwise cut throat industry. This caught the fancy of McKinley Moore who joined the company in 2023.

"We're excited to partner with our pals at High Horse and expand our event programming into such a unique and historic space," Evans said.

Located at 1032 Story Avenue in the historic neighborhood of Butchertown, High Horse Bar is open seven days a week, 2 p.m.-2 a.m.
