Jack Harlow Stumps for KFC in Fast Food Fried Chicken Brand’s Latest Cheeseball Marketing Campaign

Be it Beyond Fried Chicken or an inexplicable chicken pillow, KFC continues to try to one-up itself with new branding campaigns. This time it involves Grammy-winning rapper and Louisville native son Jack Harlow.

A new press release states that Harlow grew up eating KFC and then drops this cringe-worthy joke, invoking one of Harlow’s hit songs: “Some might even say Jack and KFC are ‘Already Best Friends.’”

Feel better, KFC marketing puke?

ANYWAY.

Beginning today, March 24, per the announcement, fans can find Jack Harlow's “Kentucky Fried Favorites” on the KFC app and KFC.com — the Spicy KFC Chicken Sandwich, Secret Recipe Fries, Extra Crispy Tenders, a side of Mac & Cheese and the signature biscuits.

Jack recently met with KFC's Head Chef, Chris Scott for a behind-the-scenes look at how KFC makes its (warning, gratuitous marketing-speak ahead) "finger lickin' good" fried chicken and fan-favorite sides. Jack breaded and fried chicken with Chef Scott and even took time to pose for cheesy photos.

"Partnering up with KFC feels like poetic justice,” Harlow says in the release, no doubt being fed words by the aforementioned marketing puke. “I've begun traveling the world and no matter how far I go, KFC is one of the first things people want to bring up when they find out where I'm from."

Harlow allegedly continues, "I'm excited to align myself with something that started in Kentucky but resonates all over the globe. I grew up going to the restaurant with my family; here are a few of the menu items I've been enjoying since I was a child."

He looks pretty excited in these photos. Hey, maybe he really does love KFC’s nearly inedible fried garbage. (But I bet he’s still getting paid to shill for it.)

"It goes without saying that our classics will never go out of style,” KFC U.S. CMP (Chief Marketing Puke) Nick Chavez said, even though he had just noted that it didn’t need to be said. “But as Jack's favorites, a few of them are getting celebrity status.”

But wait, there’s more: “We … can't wait to share what's next with Jack Harlow and KFC,” Chavez threatened. “Stay tuned. You won't want to miss it."

For those interested, after placing a digital order for Quick Pick-Up, KFC customers can head to the restaurant, park in dedicated VIP parking spots, and run inside to grab their hot grease bombs.

One question: I get that KFC wants to market its product through cheesy gimmicks, but why did they have to take Jack Harlow down in the process? WHY?
