The Kentucky Derby Museum unveiled its latest exhibit, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Secretariat’s historic win in the Kentucky Derby. The exhibit is titled, “Secretariat: America’s Horse.”

The thoroughbred, which set records in all three of the Triple Crown races, records which still stand, achieved sports fame like no other racehorse in history. The new exhibit, which will be a permanent fixture on the museum’s second floor, will include a number of attractions:

  • Watch all three of Secretariat’s Triple Crown races, on a larger-than-life 10-foot screen

  • Take a picture on the red carpet, featuring real costumes and clips from the Disney movie, Secretariat

  • Snap a photo with America's largest horseshoe – a replica made from one of Secretariat’s own

  • Visualize what made Secretariat a super horse - from his unbelievably large heart, to his extra muscle, and more, with state-of-the-art technology

  • Learn about Secretariat’s connections, including his trainer, jockey, and trailblazing female owner, Penny Chenery.

“Secretariat: America’s Horse” is free with admission to the museum.
