Louisville Downtown Partnership Launches Fundraising Campaign

Louisville Downtown Partnership launched a new fundraising campaign as it strives to add new public art, beautification, and other improvements to the public infrastructure in Downtown. LDP’s mission is to improve Louisville’s Downtown by promoting the redevelopment, vitality, and economic growth through creating a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment.

“This campaign is a first for LDP which allows anyone, regardless of where you work or live, to support our Downtown,” said Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of Louisville Downtown Partnership in a news release. “We will make great use of every donation, no matter if it’s $5 or $5,000.”

Called Friends of Downtown, LDP is driving home the point that Downtown is for everyone. It’s the business, social, and cultural center of Louisville, home to the region’s largest job center and the largest concentration of attractions, hotels, and visitors.

“It is clear that this important neighborhood is unique and has tremendous economic impact, therefore critical to the health of the whole region,” said Fleischaker. “Through this effort, LDP will support additional beautification, safety, and activation efforts, all of which collectively stimulate a strong Downtown.”

Donations to the Friends campaign will help fund ongoing and special projects, such as planting trees and flowers, public art installations and programs, street light banners, public activations, lighting projects, and more.

Supporters can choose to contribute a donation of any amount to the campaign or can choose pre-selected levels, either as a one-time or recurring monthly donation.
