Old Louisville Home Tour Returns in December

The Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour will return this year, offering visitors a rare look around inside Victorian-era residences and historic buildings, fully decorated for the holidays.

The tours will happen on Saturday, Dec. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 5, according to an announcement by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council. 

The Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour will showcase the rich history of Historic Old Louisville, showcasing two iconic mansions: the Pink Palace on St. James Court and the Sloane Mansion on Fourth Street. The Pink Palace has not been open for public tours in 14 years, while the Sloane Mansion has not been open to the public in over 25 years. 

The other six participating houses include:

·         The Emil Tachau House- Palladian Style House on St. James Court

·         The Conrad Caldwell House- Richardsonian Romanesque Mansion on St. James Court

·         The Bennett Young House- Neoclassical Style House on Fourth Street

·         The Vernon Price House and Garden- Victorian Style House on Fourth Street

·         Louisville Bourbon Inn –Bourbon tasting- Richardsonian-Romanesque House on Fourth Street 

·         The Woman’s Club- Holiday Boutique- Neoclassical Style Mansion on Fourth Street 

All of the homes on this year's tour are located within an a three-block radius, making it an easy walking tour. There is ample street parking, as well as parking at the Filson Historical Society lots on Third Street and the Goodwill Lot on Fourth Street across from the Louisville Bourbon Inn.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at old-louisville-neighborhood-council.square.site or in-person at the Historic Old Louisville Visitors Center inside Central Park (1340 S 4th Street). Children 12 and under are free. Masks are required upon entry. Patrons must start at Will Call inside the Visitors Center to receive their brochure, which will serve as an admission ticket, and will include a listing of all eight participating locations.
